OBSTETRICS

We offer the following services for our obstetrics patients:

Pre-Conception Counseling

  • The best way to help ensure a healthy pregnancy is to plan for it, we recommend and offer preconception consultation services.
  • During a consultation session, you’ll meet with one of our doctors to discuss your health and potential factors (family history, medical conditions, lifestyle) that could effect your pregnancy.
  • Doing this will help you prepare for the birth and give you the information you need to make informed decisions about pregnancy, delivery, and more.

High-Risk Pregnancy

  • Our team will help women through high-risk pregnancies and deliveries, doing our best to ensure the health of both mom and baby.
  • We partner with local Maternal Fetal Medicine specialists to ensure the safety of you and your baby through pregnancy.

In-Office Ultrasound

We have on-site sonographers who have specialized training in obstetrics imaging. They help us monitor your baby’s health throughout the pregnancy.

Non-Invasive Genetic Testing Options

At your visit, your physician will discuss the options for non-invasive prenatal genetic testing with you. These tests can give information such as the sex of the baby and the risk of the baby having a chromosomal disorder such as Down syndrome. Your doctor will discuss these testing options in detail with you during your first trimester.

Frequently Asked Questions

Generally at 6 weeks gestational age you can see a baby on ultrasound. At the 7-8 week gestational age you can usually see the heartbeat by 7-8 weeks. This is why we schedule your first visit around 8-10 weeks to ensure we are able to confirm your pregnancy with confidence.

Ultrasound technology can sometimes show the sex of the baby as early as 14 weeks of pregnancy but isn’t considered accurate until week 20.

Most patients undergo two ultrasounds during routine prenatal care. First trimester to confirm pregnancy and Second trimester at 20 weeks to check baby’s anatomy.

If possible please avoid taking medications during pregnancy unless necessary. Please call our office or consult with your physician if symptoms do not resolve. Please use the ‘Approved Medication’ guide as a reference.
