Dr. Vernon Theis – Retirement Announcement

November 1, 2021

To my patients,

It is with many emotions that I announce my retirement from medicine beginning November 1, 2021. I did not intend to retire at this time, but as recent years have highlighted, life inevitably includes circumstances beyond our control. I experienced a brain injury over the summer, and must now shift my focus to retirement, continued rehabilitation, and a new chapter of life beyond our office walls. Caring for you, my patients, has been the most rewarding part of my last 40 years as a physician. I will miss seeing patients, delivering babies, watching many of those babies grow to eventually become my patients, and being part of your path to a long and healthy life.

I have come to know many of my patients and their families as friends, and am honored to practice medicine with an amazing group of physicians that can provide quality medical care going forward. I would highly recommend any of my colleagues at Northeast OB/GYN Associates for your continued care. Northeast OB/GYN is dedicated to providing the best in women’s healthcare and I am confident you are in great hands. If you choose to go outside of Northeast OB/GYN Associates, we will send your records to your new provider once a medical release form is signed.

It has been an extraordinarily fulfilling experience to practice Obstetrics and Gynecology. My career in medicine has brought daily joy and meaning to my personal and professional life, and I thank everyone who has been a part of this journey.

If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact the office at 210-653-5501. I wish you great health, happiness, and strength in the future.

Sincerely,

Vernon D. Theis, Jr, M.D., F.A.C.O.G.
